Hey, forward disclaimer, critique will be blunt but my thoughts when going through the work you have posted in both threads (normally I would throw the posts together if they are related work, less clutter and more of a chance to get uniformed critique. This is in no way meant to be disrespectful, simply just putting down my thoughts when I was watching and going through your work
Critique:
The editing feels super choppy, gives a feeling of being unprofessional as well as not overly preplanned aside from general shots you want to portray. There is no smooth gradients, nothing new that screams unique in terms of shots, etc. Not a horrible thing are you are primarily showing off the watch it seems like, but something that would help bring this to professional level, as presentation can be everything for an end product.
The model itself has visible smoothing seams caused by mirroring and symmetry when modeling, all in the very first shot of the video.
The materials need some serious work, not sure what a lot of the materials being showcased are. In an ad like this, you need the viewer to understand what they are buying when they buy this product from you. I can assume the watch is some sort of metal? But when it comes to the watch face, its clearly a CG piece with standard case of odd material definition.
I feel once the editing is addressed and your shots cleaned up after the model clean up, it should be feeling a whole lot better and will be able to reassess what needs to be done. As of right now though, the opening two sequences work well and fall in place with standard watch and product ads similar to the style you are going for. So those work for me personally, just need some clean up and polish to lock those down.
the most off-putting thing is that you use ease-in and out keyframes in the start and end of each shot. this gives a start-stop feeling to the shot, and makes the whole spot feel like its starting and stopping all the time instead of having a continuous flow. try making the keyframes or cutting the shots while the motion is already underway if you know what i mean. dont be afraid to render bigger shots both in length and resolution, than what you originally planned, so you will have more to play with when editing.
as far as modelling, you need more realistic materials and more interesting geometry. the ring of the watch is totally empty, on the back there should be engraving, make the metal have a brushed steel look etc.
and add post processing. glares, depth of field, up the contrast. when you re doing closeups on something so small , depth of field is a must.
Also when the second hand moves I thi k it should be a ticking motion like you expect. And the cuts are kind of stop start like said previously. I liked the shot near the end where the watch rose up, but I though the rotation was a little fast
Something very weird about the reflection of the ticker. Seems to be out of sink for some reason. Was it comp'd together?
The ticker moves smoothly. Ok Rolex are smooth but you dont expect it of any other watch. But I suppose it could be what you're going for.
The ticker has ease in/out animation. So it slows when it reaches 12. Which it shouldn't.
Not enough surface noise on the materials. Even brand new objects have micro scratches, etc. And even if in reality they might not be completely visible. Adding them to CG textures adds "realism".
