AdvisableRobin polycounter lvl 10
Hey guys, I'm a student at Rochester Institute of Technology and I've been working on 3D Art seriously for almost a half a year now. I met a few of the Polycounters at GDC and they recommended that I start up a sketchbook thread. So here goes.

I am open to any and all critique

Some more progress, I've set myself a soft deadline for the lowpoly to be finished by this coming weekend.

Been trying to play around with the stairs...I am unsure about them though. I like their design, but I almost don't feel like stairs fits with the kind of cultural aesthetic I was hoping to push in the scene. I feel like for a hyper advanced species that they might have developed a better technique then stairs. But at the same time I want some familiarity with the environment.

It looks as though there are too many steps, that you could skip 2 or 3 without breaking stride. I think this could be fixed easily if you just moved the stairs back so each doesn't overlap as much on the next one. If you don't feel like stairs are appropriate, maybe a ramp or something along those lines? Great work so far, thanks for sharing!

Been lagging a bit on posting the upper floor, but here it is. Concept and then implementation. I thinned out the stairs for now, but I might throw together a ramp model and see how I feel about it. Hopefully will start posting more stuff from some of my other projects. Specifically a game I am working on called Spectral Robot Task Force. Stay tune.

About time I suuuuuuper updated this thread. Been busy lately with being employed, but I've found time to work on my hard surface modeling. After seeing Snerfer's insane space station interior I got inspired to try out something in that style. Not a complete scene, just working on smaller objects to try and get down techniques for modeling.

Few more lunch time doodles. Saw someone making a rail in Zbrush using booleans and I wanted to try and create it in Maya. Turned out to be easier than I thought.
