Organic Unwrapping Help/Critique

Looking for a bit of help with unwrapping for this tree. I'm making this as a little practice scene to learn hand painted textures and the tree's lining up really badly. Thanks! Critique on the textures are welcome of course.

as long as you dont have any clear stretching your UV Splits should be ok. I would recommend painting this in 3D so to avoid all the stretching issues. Photoshop or 3D Coat work well. This will also hide Seams

Thanks for the advice - painting in 3D seems like a good idea. As much as there's not a huge amount of stretching, the seams are getting on my nerves.
