Help with Photoshop work

I'm trying to get better at popout art work and was trying to replicate the outside splatter on the following images



Was wondering what would be the best way to do this, I can't really find nice brushes to do this with, could someone give me tutorial/tips/links to nice brushes etc

They are brushes i think you just look up splatter brushes most likely blood and paint on google will turn up some useful results.

Looks like burn tooling the outline you want creating a new layer behind it and splattering the hell out of the BG behind your desired image.

Then boosting the sat level?

Best guess.
