dDo2 gloss map import fail into UDK

So I'm getting into using dDo for my texturing now that it's gone free, but seem to be having trouble with importing gloss maps into UDK.

I have no problem importing other maps created in dDo, or even gloss maps made by hand.

I posted my normal import settings for textures. Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

Make sure the image resolution is a power of 2 (64x64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, etc)

Yes I have the resolution at 1024.
I thought maybe the file was corrupt so I re-opened it in Photoshop but it's fine.
Renaming the file doesn't change anything and neither does downscaling.

What's the image mode? Are you trying to import a grayscale texture by mistake? What bitrate? Can you post an example image?

Stupid question, but it's a .TGA right? I know dDo likes to save as jpeg, which UDK doesn't know what to do with. Have you tried resaving it?

RGB, no greyscale and 18-bit

If I save my gloss from just the Photoshop save method it imports fine, so it seems there is a problem within dDo that does something when saving through them. Still a hassle having to do that extra step.

It is definitely not RGB. Ddo saves out the gloss map as a greyscale image, you have to convert it in PS. Just go to image > mode > RGB.

I don't know if I'm understanding the above correctly, but I found that sometimes when I rendered to texture from 3ds Max some of the maps wouldn't import into UDK.

In the end (eventually) I found in photoshop that converting it from a 16 bit image to an 8 bit image made it work again?
