Hello peoples. I decided to become a texture artist for a hobby. This is my first quick piece. I'm sure there's flows, mistakes, etc. I can use critiques.
Be brutally honest if you must. My goal is to become a GREAT texture artist.
Hey CDQuestia, nice start but its not much to go on at the minute. I'm sure you will get a lot of help/links to tutorials from the great community here but you will need to give people more information to go on. A few things that might help:
In general
> Software you use/intend to use (Max/Maya/ZBrush/Photoshop etc or a combination)
Per Texture
> Description of the texture (Stone/Metal/Fabric etc)
> Style of the texture (Realistic/Stylized)
> Is your texture intended to tile or not?
This is certainly a good start, I look forward to seeing how this progresses! Good luck with the journey towards your goal

I'm using Photoshop. I can model decent with Maya and I'm currently learning Zbrush.
I was learning to make it from a tutorial.

I will do a final attempt with it this week.
Check out this guy's (Jamin Shoulet) videos.

If you are planning to use a 3d package and ZBrush you could check out this series of tutorials by Sean Marino: https://vimeo.com/35545046
For a look at a similar workflow you could check this out when you are more comfortable with ZBrush: http://pixologic.com/zclassroom/homeroom/lesson/environments-with-tate-mosesian/
Those are two of my favourite tutorial series anyway, hope that helps!
The zbrush tutorial will be awesome to learn on
