Hello everyone I am having a strange issue with my Maya scene file, I have searched the interwebs for a long time and could not find an answer. Whenever I have nothing selected and press "F" to zoom into scene my camera zooms out very far in all view port as well as new cameras. The scene will also not orbit around objects correctly instead of rotating around the selected's center it orbits around the camera's center. I have tried freezing transforms, deleting history, optimizing scene exporting scene and resetting all camera controls but the problem persists :poly127:. Thanks in advance everyone

Go to your preferences -> Cameras, and change the values in Near clip and Far clip. I'm currently running with this:
Near clip: 0.1
Far clip: 10000.0
I'm pretty sure these settings do not apply to "old" scenes, so in case you have a workfile with weird camera behavior in it, click each camera in the outliner and then select it's shape node in the attribute editor. There you can change the Near clip plane and Far clip plane just as you did in the preferences.
My scene is set to default Y-Up
The viewcube trick works though it seems to revert back every now and again thanks rube
And my camera clipping plane is set high enough but the scene gets zoomed out to the point where I have to select an item in the outliner to zoom into
When I delete all my objects in the scene the camera still zooms out far but I can still see the grid
Edit: Ah, I just saw you tried this already. My bad. If your model is nested inside groups with pivot points in wacky locations it can also cause strange zooming issues. Are there any unusual nodes present inside your Outliner or Hypergraph?
There were some strange nodes but I already tried deleting everything and its still acting weird. I may have to just deal with it's not that annoying I guess. Thanks Bartalon
