[Paid] Empire Studios looking for talent to work remotely!

Greetings,

We are a start-up company based in the Kingdom of Bahrain (near Dubai), Middle East. We are looking to fill up few remote positions to take lead in the very first UE3-based mobile game project within the region! We will keep this thread updated with our latest offerings. Currently, we are looking for:

- Environment Artist ( x 4 )

As an Environment Artist you will be responsible for overseeing the creation of high quality environment art assets as well as building levels in UE3 based on given concepts/blockouts.

You have:
  • Jaw-dropping level design skills
  • Working experience in UE3; creating levels, using Unreal Kismet, Unreal Matinee, placing actors, etc
  • Perfect knowledge of 3ds Max (or Maya) & Photoshop.
  • Impressive sculpting skills in ZBrush
  • Complete understanding of UE3's content pipeline, specially lightmap UVing.
  • Ability to comfortably create shaders via Unreal's Material Editor
  • Experience in optimizing content for mobile games (merging assets, creating texture atlases, etc)
  • Very strong creativity and an excellent eye for detail.
  • Solid understanding of composition, form, lighting, and color
  • Experience in working in the gaming industry.
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to easily communicate in English


Pluses:
  • Love for medieval times
  • 3+ years experience in the game development industry in a similar position
  • Shipped title or more

- Character Artist ( x 10 )

We are looking for talented Character Artists with the ability to consistently create compelling and aesthetically pleasing characters while adhering to polygon and memory budget constraints. As a character artist, you will be creating high-quality 3D art assets using ZBrush, 3D Studio Max, Topogun (or an equivalent) and Photoshop. You will work closely with the Design Director, Senior Concept Artists and team to help realize the vision and even make it better!

You have:
  • Top-notch sculpting skills in ZBrush
  • Solid experience working in 3ds Max (or Maya) & Photoshop.
  • Experience working in the gaming industry.
  • Very strong creativity and an excellent eye for detail.
  • Solid understanding of composition, form, lighting, and color
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to easily communicate in English

Pluses:
  • Experience developing 3D characters for mobile devices
  • Love for medieval times
  • 3+ years experience in the game development industry in a similar position
  • Shipped title or more

Task Short Description

You will be required to build two low-poly versions, one has the triangle budget of (5k ~ 6k) to be used for character selection menues (with 1k diffuse, normal and spec), and another of (~1k triangles) to be used in-game (only diffuse). Please note that this will be the case if you are to work with creating the heroes of the game. Otherwise, for all enemy units will just do the lower poly version ( ~ 1k ) only.

Note: Each artist will be tasked with creating a total of 5 characters.

Compensation

All positions are paid on a pay-per-model basis. Every artist will provide his/her quotation on the given task, and a contract will be created and signed accordingly.
