Maya Midi Animation Script.

So for the longest time I have always wanted to get something to read in midi data into maya and use that to animate things along with music. So.. I searched and found this.. Old maya midi script.
That plugin looks cool, But I wanted to push further and implement things that come straight from FL-Studio. Also, that plugin does not work at all in new maya versions.
I wanted to share because I am super excited about how this is going to evolve. So here is a quick playblast showing a prototype of my script. Lots of bugs are shown in that vid, but the fundamentals are there!
I'm also curious if anyone else has a need for this. It definitely seems like a cool thing that maybe 0.01% of users would be interested in.

I just found your thread and I am looking at the same... just the other way around (MIDI out of Maya). How far have you come? I would love to talk with you about the topic as I am currently doing a BA about the subject.
