Well, it seems like your portfolio is only geared for weapons artist positions. I would remove the sackboy since it's not relevant. If you want to apply to more broad env artist positions, you need more environments and props in your folio. Some of the weapons look unfinished as well so I would remove them til the textures are 100% complete. Often weapon artists also tackle vehicles so having those would also be good.

So I take it that you wanna do weapons then? It's not impossible at all but it's a pretty thin market.

Regarding your work I think you need to take an other pass on all of your weapons. The material definition isn't there to 100% (some better then others). And the're just that, guns. Non of them tells you a story, again some are better the others.

If you want to work with other stuff, like environments, you need to show that. I think your work is pretty solid (taking what I said above in account) but you're hard to hire as your folio is right now. As an example, our 200+ studio wouldn't have a position for you. If there is a gun that needs to be done or re-touched it would be done by either character art or vehicle. Everything else is outsourced.

So to progress you should try to think of what you want to do, what you would be good at and enjoy. Put together a game plan to make that happen. If you want to get into environment art it's pretty much just one scene that's needed. Something that's fleshed out enough to show all of your skills.

Hi. the majority of the stuff on your site is metal so its important that your materials are reading correctly, with metals you need to put the majority of your detail into your spec map, the diffuse should be dark and subtle texture.. keep going though

Take one of the guns you like the most at convert it to Marmoset Toolbag 2 I say. That's where the industry is going.

As for sites I can recommend using thumblr and turn comments and everything that's "bloggy". Check my site, it's a free theme that I changed some colors on.
