Hello everyone. My artwork has been a little stagnate lately so I'm getting back into the groove of it with something on the simpler side, a handpainted wooden wagon. I plan on making the texturing stylized but before I get to that I'm stuck with how I should make the ropes that keep the pieces together. I was thinking of just dropping those and painting in nails instead, but the ropes I think look better.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Having the rope actually in the texture is going to be hard considering the rope actually has to wrap around the peices of wood. With actually modeling the rope you can wrap it around anything you want freely, and it's only 4 polys each one, (considering if you want it less "jagged") If you wrap the rope around tight enough, you wont even notice that is just a one sided face, rather then a cylindrical rope that is pretty costly referring to optimization and performance
EDIT: i noticed the rope texture is the wrong way lol, but you get what i mean right =D
@GrungyStudios I'll give that a shot and see how it comes out.
@Snader I suppose that I could just paint it into the model as it is, but I figured it might make the rope pop a bit more if there was a slight silhouette change with the rope wrapping around. Also, may make a few model tweaks before moving on.
