@ chillydog thanks for the pointers also the face was textured via a software called the gimp it's like photo shop but free

The model clearly needs to be improved
The top of the head seems to be going to the center, while it should be straight
The edges needs borders
The model in overal needs more segments

Not sure if you know how to properly unwrap a object but maybe this video will help you out.
