Multiple Textures on one Mesh

I may know the answer but unsure. If you create multiple textures for one mesh, is it doable to apply those different textures when the mesh is copied and placed in the same area, to give a pillar or other object a different look to keep the textures varied? I'm thinking I'd need to use Map Channel in the 3ds max UV Editor for multiple UV channels in UDK.

The simple route tells me to copy the mesh and apply the similar textures to those copies. In my head, this makes sense. ha ha
