Hi everyone,
I'm trying to create a small level with real buildings using plans.
But I can't set the units right in 3DSmax to get the same dimensions in UDK.
In a tutorial to set units in max, I learned that a character is 96units in UDK (like skeletalmesh) and to have a character that is 1,8m tall I have to divide 180/96 = 1,875cm.
So, the tutorial says I have to set the max units to 1unit = 1.875cm
So, when I create a block 180cm in height, it appears the same size in UDK (96units)
But, when I try it... I get a small block in UDK. It doesn't even reach the knee of the skeletalmesh.
Does someone know what the problem is.
A friend told me to set max units in generic and 1unit = 1inch so 96max units would equal the 96UDK units.
There too, the block just reaches the knee of the skeletalmesh.
Any help is most welcome.

It doesn't really help me.
"UE3 treats one Max Unit as one Unreal Unit, regardless of what length the units were originally set to in Max."
As I said, I use 96 max units and did not get the right height in UDK.
Unless the skeletalmesh is way more bigger than 96 units in UDK.
Or maybe I don't get your point. Could you be more specific?
As I said, I tried that too but I still get this
I friend told me to do so because he uses generic units and it works for him... but in my case, it doesn't.
How do I make it 1 : 1 ?

I set the units back to automatic and now it works just fine.
