Hey guys... Not 100% sure this is the correct forum to post this, Hope it is... I've had lots of people repeatedly tell me to post this on polycount so Here goes!
Ashen Rift: a man and his dog on Kickstarter
Let me know what you guys think of the video, the page, the presentation, the concept, anything, I'm super curious if I was able to communicate everything well.
So anxious... Doing a kickstarter is horrifying and awesome at the same time...
If you guys'n galls have any tips for promotion or contacts, Please let me know, I'm doing everything I can and could really use a hand.
Cheers!
Take care and thanks for watching!
Barry.

Also it might be worth enabling some smaller donations? (i.e $1 to $5), I would ave thought that would help a lot (then again I'm no Kickstarter expert.) Good luck
I wish you got to the action quicker, I understand what your trying to do (this isn't an action game....ammo conservation...etc.), but the first part of the video seemed to drag on for a bit and didn't really build to anything. Which is odd, cause you had some decent concepts that could of fit nicely at the end of that video. Not showing any enemies or interactions with the environment/enemies or the dog I think was a real missed opportunity. Granted it's there later in the video, but honestly some people don't bother. If it's not grabbing them in the first 20 seconds (in your case first two minutes) they'll just click on the next thing. Sad state of reality, but that's the truth of it.
Not showing the rift, or hinting at it; I think is a missed opportunity as well. Think of amazing games like Journey, and Half life 2. They both poised these amazing structures off in the distance yet on the horizon that set the tone to lure the player, to dangle that carrot so to speak. Your environments were good, yet lighting and skydomes could be better.
Your characters are cool, animations are a bit rough, but it's to be expected. I'll be watching and contributing for sure. Best of luck.
