Im sending out my portfolio but one anxiety I still have is conceptualizing a project. From what I understand the bigger the company the more spread out the jobs. From that im inferring that there's plenty of concepts to model from, where it's vice versa for a smaller company. Do I have much to worry about with concepting seeing as im not really being paid to make concepts? Someone tell me it'll be ok cause I can't be the only one to wonder this haha

If you were working somewhere very small, you might be called on to do some concepting, but otherwise you shouldn't have any particular worries for the most part. That said, it's a handy skill to have and certainly won't hurt your portfolio to get some 2d art down.

My anxiety over this whole thing basically came up after I started working on my current gig, which makes sense seeing as it's a small studio. I'm tasked with coming up with my own concepts and to see it through to the animation side. The idea of coming up with my own model in theory sounds great, but eventually gives me headaches. I'd say it's primarily prevalent when I have to come up with anything sci fi. It came to a head with this currentt model that has me creating a sci fi building. Coming up with how the building looks from the outside let alone the inside is just a nightmare without having any visual direction. I can create modular pieces or whatever it would entail but the building as a hole is artistically paralyzing. Again, this seems more often the casewith sci fi related things, but I just wanted to throw every subject matter under the umbrella for arguments sake.
