Hey guys,
I was just wondering if I could have your opinion on something please?
I am currently sorting out my CV so that I can look for work.
Originally it was crammed onto 1 page with lots of bullet points like the classic artist CV.
I have been advised by someone who has a lot of experience to make it 2 pages. (their experience is in programming and teaching)
The new way means that instead of bullet points saying I made characters props and weapons etc I give a brief outline of the project that I worked on and a description of the actual stuff that I done on the project itself to put it in context.
My CV is now 2 pages but it seems make sense and it contains a lot of useful info, however, I was wondering if this is a bad idea for an artist to have a packed CV like this? or is something like this is better suited to a programmer?
Thanks,
Mike

Looking at your CV on your website you have about 3 years experience, which I personally don't think is enough to warrant a multi page CV unless you were a real journeyman working at many studios during that time. Many of entries you have a bullet point where you describe the studio which seems unnecessary and the section of "Experience" basically mirrors what the work history shows. Maybe consider leaving off the lecturer role, or cutting down the length of description.
Some of the c.v. content should be in the covering letter rather than the c.v.
The covering letter should be about 1/2 a page. What, you don't have a covering letter? I'll tell you right now that it's just as important.
It goes without saying that both should be dark text on a white background.
I have reverted back to the single page cv. I found that writing so much for the 2 page CV game me a lot of useful stuff to add to the single page CV that I did not have before so I would recommend that to you guys
