Building portfolio: work and questions

I am trying to construct a portfolio in time for GDC.
I have been to GDC before (2012) and the only reason I would go this year is if I had a decent chance of either being hired or getting an internship. I plan on having this model done as well as finishing up two other pieces before GDC.
( I will post them here as I work on them).
now for a question even if I pump these things out in two weeks, do you think I would have a chance with only three pieces of this quality to show?
this is the piece I am currently working on, a teenage girl in cloth pants, shoes and a simple stitched yellow dress with the sleves twisted around her arms. I hope to have it 100% finished by the end of the week. Any critique and all feedback is welcomed

the one piece I have 98% completed (need to fix texture seams) it's a 10k tri rigged with walk cycle and turn around
