hey guys. I had this idea of making the Disney princesses as wow characters. from concept to game model I started with aurora and I'll soon begin with the modeling. let me know what you think.
F yea man GREATEST idea this year, kick ass i hope everything else is as good if not i'll help however i can to see this possible. I want a damn wall paper epic i hope you pull this off, i am rooting for you.
thanks for your comments guys! this motivates me more to getting them done! Here I have the second princess jasmine!. I tough it would be a little more interesting to have her in a pose instead of t-pose and in color let me know what you think.
I started blocking in Aurora too ill post the progress soon
Dude i have a stupid ass grin on my face dude omg i am o.d.ing on the comments but holyshit this is so welcomed, idc who doesn't like this idea i love it, what do you need? lol and no i am not a genie.
These are beautiful. Great job man. Wish I had some more valuable feedback than that, but seriously these are too good! Do you have a portfolio or DA or somewhere I could browse your other work?
hey guys thanks again for the positive feedback! I'm modeling aurora right now and in between breaks I started concepting Elsa. I'm having a little bit of trouble deciding which route to take
help me out here.
The art itself is great, particularly the WoW aspect with regrds to stylisation and sense of proportion as well as use of colour, but I think the design of the characters is perhaps lacking in appropriate research. I don't recognise either of these characters as Aurora or Jasmine at all, they're just random female characters as far as I can tell.
Jasmine's issues are the easiest to quantify; you have a lot of elements that simply don't make any sense. You use scarab beetles, bird wings, silver and gold as core design features. These features are all iconographically associated with ancient Egypt in particular, but Jasmine is a Persian princess from the east. The film is set in dark age Persia - an entirely different place and time. In the Disney portrayal, her lineage is very clearly of Indian origin (though in the original story Aladdin is based on, she came from western China). Jasmine would be more at home in the Taj Mahal than the Pyramids.
Similarly, Aurora is a western (particularly English) medieval princess.
Every Disney princess has very specific design elements include a colour pallet. You should pay strong attention to these palettes to keep them recogniseable - Aurora wears pink, Jasmine wears blue / turquoise.
hey guys. Been really busy lately but I decided to restart the concepts, and I redid aurora and her weapon. the weapon is already modeled and ready, just finished redesigning aurora and here she is!
Not a fan of these huge shoulder pads that look like parts of a ship. Seem out of place, since she doesn't have any more wooden armor on her. The pose is a mid-jump over the roots? Who jumps few inches with two legs in the air without a hand stand? The quality of art is good, and the weapon design looks fine. Though, it's function is a mystery to me. A spear/axe?

Anyway, hope that helps a bit.
