Hi just finished my W.I.P. panzer ausf. N piece (WIP posted on another thread) I've been working on for the past couple of weeks.
I know its not polished but I only started this to practice my hard surface modelling skills and to show that I can create accurate models based on reference. :poly142:
Hardest and most challenging part was to find the correct reference for this project (spent endless hours looking for it).
Have a look and tell me what u think.
Any ideas/feedback on anything u dont like or think is off would be really helpful.
Cheers!!! :poly136:
So everything started from this:
to this:
more details to come.....

Are you planning to retopo? Cause if so, I see a few edges that look a bit too sharp for proper baking.
Also, I'm not sure if its "historically accurate", but I Would totally model some cool looking outskirts. They look great on these adorable tanks.
yeah its not 100% accurate as I'm not sure if some of the details I got from some models are from the same Panzer version, but the N series had a couple of different variations so they could be right.
There are plans for retopo, sculpting and texturing but not for now.
You are right though it does look look sharp to me too but I though that's because its 'clean' and that if I added some sculpted details and textures that look would go away.
I've got some wires coming up just need to piece em all together for a nice presentation

Try that render setup on this model with the suggestions in the 2nd link. Be warned it will show any modeling errors brutally but if everythings clean, it will look awesome in your portfolio.
Nice clean model. You should also post your military model work here as well for feedback.

I'm afraid I used Maya for this so the tutorial is not good for now, as I am still slowly learning Max I'm sure it will come in handy in the future.
Here are some breakdowns. If there is any specific details u want to see more closely or something u dont like let me know
Enjoy
Is this the Tank from the DigitalTutors HighPoly Course?
(coresplendor) yeah I didn't like those either, I decided to keep the white renders for now I think those look better. Prob have to re-render them with different settings as the white gets blown out in some areas and its hard to see any details.
Gazu it looks a lot like mine but I think that one is from a different panzer version
The final render does have too much grain/noise in it.
Also consider modeling the inside of the hatches and opening them up.
