I have been trying to bake a normal map from my high poly model onto my low poly model using xNormal but when I do it all I get is a bad normal map. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a good tutorial or video?
So I have tried a simpler object now. I am trying to bake a high poly cube shape onto a low poly cube shape. I have all the screen shots. So hopefully we will be able to sort this out?
The shape of your HP is quite different from your LP. The HP is wider around the equater and has considerably rounded corners, while your LP is just a perfect cube. Your LP silhouette should match the HP as closely as possible otherwise you will start to get iffy bake results.
