Currently working on a set for Wraith King. Finished the high poly for the armor, still working on a weapon. The strands of cloth as well as the bottom of the cape will be tattered.
@ Nikey, I intend to make the details pop with texturing to compensate that. Also a lot of items have smaller detail that can not be seen in game well. They are for the purpose of marketing and the load out. I don't see it being an issue as long as the weapon reads well in game and does not suffer for it.
Anyway I just realized a possible major issue....I am working on textures at the moment when I remembered Wraith King's head piece falls off when he dies! :poly122:
Is there any chance valve would allow his head to stay on for a specific set? Would be really odd to see his hair fall off.
Edit: It would be really nice if valve had a forum or something to answer these specific type of questions for people creating content.
This is shaping up to be an incredibly slick looking set!
Even with wraith kings somewhat awkward colour palette the colours manage to look really nice together.
I think the sword being more "wraith king-coloured" and not using the same bone colour as all old skeleton king swords helps a lot.
My favourite part of it are probably the two cloth pieces wrapping around his right shoulder, subtle but really cool. It balances out the asymmetry nicely too.
Just about finished with this set. Yesterday when I went to test it in game I noticed they changed the poly limits on 3 of the items quite a bit...Ended up being both good and bad, I'll have to make sure to keep track of the tech page when making another set.
Below are some in game shots. This set was a nightmare, specially the cloak, to get working in game.
Edit: I also had to reduced the shoulder size a little bit do to an excessive amount of clipping.
You can upload both and valve can just make it a style item, gold and green styles. Either that or valve will just take one of them in game. You have nothing to lose by uploading both styles. In my opinion, go for the gold. (it breaks the OD-like pallete you have on the blade)

Current progress on the weapon.

Decided the second guard was not looking right so I changed the design some. (Edited it in the image above.)

Ah, that's actually a rather simple solution lol. I have yet to mess with custom animations so I didn't even think of it. Thanks
I'd love to see it with a bit more gold on the weapon.

The sword could use some gold too, other than that, it looks great.
@Reyne Ya I agree, I changed the hilt some to add more gold.
@Silwer I didn't like how small his other shoulder was so I tried to beef it up with the cloth.
@GhostDetector lol I guess you could look at it like that, but I think it looks ok in game.
@aresca Yes as you can see below.

I didn't initially because the main focus is meant to be the set. But it does look better.
