For a university project I have been tasked with creating a transformer of some kind. This has to be a vehicle that is able to transform into robot. At the end of this I want a fully textured and game ready character which works in engine. I'll be using this thread to document my progress and hopefully get some feedback too.
Started with a really simple base mesh - no sub d modelling yet
I've been influenced from the likes of Armoured Core for the robot base mesh. I really love the art style of their robots. The base mesh is a little lacking in parts (arms generally). This is due to the arms being a part of the helicopter exhaust systems.
After breaking the helicopter down into various parts I bodged together a design that could work and successfully transform. One fear I had was the robot looking too thin and spindly. I don't think this will be a problem.
The the bit you have all been waiting for, does it blend?

Unsure currently about what to do about the rotor blades in robot mode, they stick out like a sore thumb. I have had a suggestion to make them fold down into a cape-like feature, which is an idea I might take on, but I am open to anything else!

The rotor blades should have much more spacing between them. When at rest, gravity bends them too. The triangular part of the front window should be much smaller too.
Also currently your blades are incorrect—one set move clockwise, the other counter-clockwise. You should change the orientation to match this.
