This is the current character I am working on. I haven't got a name for the project or anything just wanted to try out some new techniques and this is the result so far.

I am attempting to post work earlier in the cycle than I normally do as I normally end up just posting as the project is finished.

Anyway at this point I am 2 days into the project.

This is day 1 progress:

This is day 2 progress:

Really enjoying this project so far, got a way to go yet but it's getting there :P.

Any suggestions on anything to add or edit please feel free to comment.

Can you show it in another matcap. Like matcap gray or something. The red wax makes it really hard to tell what is going on....

I like demons, and this thing is cool. Keep up the work! I can't wait to see it textured.

It's too busy. I think you have some beautiful things happening but it maybe a bit much to take in. I can't seem to focus my eyes.

Hello again, sorry about the lack of update on this thread iv been a bit busy which has really halted the progress of this piece.

Anyway I am pretty much finished with this beast now, I am fairly happy with the end result but its definitely not perfect.
I have got rid of all the metal pieces and left it more skin and bone. Remodelled the shoulder to look like a ribcage and spine as I couldn't get the other one to look right. Fairly happy with the end(ish) result. Just got a few more colour fixes to do tomorrow I think then just need to get some good renders. Just posting in case there are any issues anyone can see or suggestions of anything to change before I draw a line under this project and start the next.

I like the end result. It's less noisy ad more raw, though a lot of detail and character was lost in the final lowpoly... Though I'm a big advocate of starting a new asset instead of trying to retrofit newly learned skills at the end o your pipeline. So start your next project; you will have a much better result than trying to make this one perfect. Your work and skill improves MUCH more between projects/assets than it does during the creation of a single asset.

Thanks Kazeohin. Yeah I agree, a lot of the detail did get lost mainly because I tried to make it to lowpoly I think, its just under 10k polys. Yeah I will be moving on in the next few days, I am just going to fix the last few bits and then do final renders, then onto the next project.

Thanks for viewing guys :) been a really fun project and learned a lot.
