Hey everyone. Looking for some feedback on this project I am working on for my portfolio. It is still a WIP and I have not smoothed many of my normals, but any feedback would be great.

Im really having trouble with the makeshift part on top. If anyone has any good reference for makeshift that would help me so much.

Layers. I'd look at survival shelters. A basic idea is supporting a tarp with wood weighing it down at a good angle for run-off. This can add a nice torn material and a strong blue color to the scene. Tossing boards and sheet metal pieces haphazardly on top would be fine depending on what kind of look you're going for.

As for games, Rage and Half-Life 2 may draw inspiration.

Though I'd be more concerned about the load bearing weight of that shipping container on such a rickety dock. Some large pier support beams would help balance the scene. Could even put a few out in the water alone like part of the structure was washed away.
