The brass on the shell casings feels more like plastic than metal. What colors are you using for the specular? Adding a reflection to the brass also really helps, assuming you're going for a render rather than real-time.
Also, Russian rounds often used a steel rather than a brass case, with a distinct red stripe at the bullet/case boundary.
The bullet was based in a standard 9mm bullet i googled for so thats why it has brass on it, it also gives it the more typical bullet look, for my brass material i am using a dark green diffuse, bright yellow specular and a very bright gloss, i am also struggling with the cooper.

It looks really sweet! I also think the bullets look a bit off. It feels like the color is too vibrant. Maybe you could try desaturating the color a bit.
I still feel like its missing low level details, as i always tend to overdo them and it always ends up looking nosiy, i worked on the bullets, i hope this is better. Please keep em coming!
Set up more lights before you adjust too much to the current situation, its clearly way too dark and you cannot texture properly under those conditions
It has indeed the same color, but the hammer and the safety are made out of metal. Bakelite would break, its very brittle. I dont know what metal though, any gun nut here maybe?

The scratches and scuff marks are spot on though.

It's quite unlikely those two vital components would be made of some kind of plastic ^^
Maybe its just the outside covered with bakelite or something
