Maxscript: Reading target of a .LNK windows shortcut

Hi friends,

i googled around but couldn't find out how i read the destination/target of a given .LNK windows shortcut file. Is this even possible with MaxScript? This forum holds no thread with the search word "lnk"

If it e.g. points to "c:\test.txt" i would like to get this path as return value...

Think you can read that using VBScript and run the vbscript file through max with HiddenCommandLine and pipe whatever results you want to a text file. Think that was how it worked.
