[3Ds Max] Should I animate all my characters in one scene or separate scenes?

Hi guys,

I have two characters that I'm needing to animate for a short 1 - 1:30min film.

The environment all stays the same.

I'm just wondering if it would be easier to animate them both in separate files and then import one into the other? How do I go about importing and exporting fully rigged, animated characters between scenes?

Thanks

Animate them in one scene, and use Layers to manage the visibility. This will be better especially if they interact.

If you want to animate in separate scenes, use File > Merge to get them into once scene.

And try to avoid to work with local characters / rigs. Its much more comfortable to work with referenced models because if you need to do changes to the model they would instantly effect all scenes in which the character is used.
