The attached image is an art test we will require you to complete. To apply, please send your portfolio, resume and art test to
jobs@clapfootgames.com.
What needs to be done for this art test:
1) 1 treasure chest modelled, textured, rigged and animated (Cat Rig/Skeleton Rig in 3DS max) The interior and exterior of the chest must be modelled
2) Tri limit of around 600.
3) Use as much symmetry as possible. Use unique parts to break the symmetry. Make sure your UV's are packed as tight as possible.
4) Must be textured in a hand painted art style assuming that the light source is directly above it on one 512 map. Keep your textures low on noise, and use details to lead the viewers eye. Centralize details on visually important areas, minimize noise on low interest areas. Use this chest as an example of the desired style
5) send us at least a 720p Youtube video of your animation. We need to see that you can do all of the above things. Added polish is always welcomed, but far from necessary
6) Work creatively under these limitations. Colours and Materials are your discretion, but the closer you can follow directions the better
7) Make sure your animation utilizes the basic principals of animation.
8 ) Have fun with this simple art test. The work here is genuinely always fun, so make sure you enjoy the work that you are doing.
9) Remember that you will be asked to make more complicated objects in less time if you did get the job.
10) Feel free to add this to your own portfolio
