Krita and Tiff Files?

Just downloaded Krita and I am loving it tremendously especially for painting but when I import tiff files rendered from 3dsmax with an alpha channel.The tiff files open but the alpha channel cannot be found.I am using the Windows version of Krita.Is there anyway this can be solved?
Btw,I really dig how u use the shift and drag brush to manipulate the brush size.I wanted to change the opacity slider shortcut from O and I to Alt and mouse drag but the shortcuts doesn't allow this.
Will appreciate any help here.

are you exporting 32bit TIFF 32bit is needed to have a alpha

Tried it.Saved it out as a 32bit TIFF from 3dsmax but Krita can't open it.

I just noticed that Krita seems to display the colors of an image differently especially when darkened.The seems to be dark patches with yellow and red blotches in the dark areas like it is pixelly or painted with a hard brush when using the filters.
Frankly,I find the Krita more intuitive than Gimp and Photoshop.It feels like working in Maya or 3dsmax but for painting.
Is there anyway this can be fixed?I am guessing I have to change the color profile?
