Might as well start this thread.
Just got Modo SE so jumping into sculpting. Done a lot of TF2 (and other stuff through the years) but wanted to up my game a bit and learn sculpting.
Current WIP for Modo SE Comp.
Could use crits on the beard especially. Trying to rough out the forms with a round push brush, they sharpen the grooves with a crave tool, then using tangent pinch on the highs to sharpen them.

I think this is looking good. From what I read about modo se the rigging should be pretty straight forward, hope you get it done to get a few votes in by Thursday
Yeah Greg at Foundry said Heat rigging was back in. But he had pulled down the video because they weren't going to include it. The Steam specific rigging was a little bit of a pain from what I tried. I guess we'll see, he has been pretty helpful in chat though and said to give him a shout when I get there.
Heat only works for enclosed meshes so I suppose not really useful for dota, but smooth wieghting, painting and smoothing verts is a breeze.

I think I will invert the colors on the hat rim so yellow is larger and light green is small base rim. The hat tends to blend into the shoulder piece too easy.
Been told the chains need brightened up a bit too.

Constant battle is Hell on weapons. Wraith King dug deep into his stash and pulled out this old favorite, his Spine Hacker. Realizing that bones are only temporary he has accepted the fact that this blade itself will perish, and where better than on the battlefield.
Conquering Conch

Cast out befit with a Conch Crown as a constant reminder of the Lost Chalice of Crey, Slithice ever wanders the battlegrounds. The Chalice must be found and all suspects will pay their toll to the Slithereen.

The Storm Beetle, a mount for Disruptor.
The texture isn't quite done... The leg dots need painted and the tail dots need redone larger. Trying to stay very close to the original mounts scheme.
I've made a comparison image and I think the contrast definitely needs bumped up. Also looking back at the in game i think the spec is killing it a bit. It's mostly spec by color but maybe too even and too strong.
I have done light and ao bakes, and they definitely make a difference, but not sure my lightmap has strong enough contrast either.
I'll be working on this for the next few days, don't want to waste all my time on a bad looking texture

Was going to try some particle editting in Alien Swarm today but it just CTD's. Looks like a common problem on SPUF
I have a whole skeleton sculpt so it's possible. But even if I get custom particles working that might be above my abilities.
once we were working on smth like that, it's very tricky since the players might confuse it with firefly.
