How would you sculpt this kind of detail in ZBrush?

I'm just wondering how you guys would go about creating this kind of detail:

Like, would you sculpt every swirl, or use some kind of way faster technique? Also, does anyone know the proper name for this kind of design / pattern?

Thanks!

I would likely use alphas and maybe consider adding them as an nDo overlay in Photoshop.

GIS for 'flourish' or 'flourish ornaments' will bring up a lot of similar designs/patterns.

Sweet, that brought up a ton of vectors perfect for alpha usage.

What do you mean as an nDo overlay? I've used nDo for just normal map generation, but I'm not sure what nDo overlay really means.

Basically you would have two normal maps, one baked from your high poly (no ornaments) and another that you create using nDo (just the clean shapes of the ornamental design work). nDo has an overlay tool that will combine the two. Of course, this is moot if you're just focusing on the high poly for this project.

EDIT: I mention this because I find these details can be kind of tedious to place in zBrush and sometimes it's challenging to get enough resolution in the geometry for a crisp result, but there may be better zB tricks for this kind of stuff that I'm not aware of.
