Stylised BMX game character

Hi!

Started working on this character a few days ago and thought this might be a good time to start a thread about it. Will make a bicycle for him too.

This is a WIP of the character with textures. Any advice on how to make him look better?

    Here's a screenshot of the bike. Still alot of work to be done. Sure will be an experience figuring out how to make the chain.

    The style you got going is cool, almost something quite 'pixar-ish' about it :) I would say the colors could use some more variation in light as the jeans and shoes are especially dark. The face is cool but he seems to have more of a petrified look at the moment (although if the hills he's going to be cycling on are quite steep, that might work :D) maybe its the raised eyebrows?

    Bike model is nice as well, looking forward to the texture!

    Yeah, the lower part might be a bit dark. Tried to make them less saturated and darker to get the focal point around the head and chest. But I see now that they look pretty flat and boring. Thanks for pointing that out!
    The facial expression is something I definately have to fix as I agree with you 100%. He looks totally petrified haha. :)

    Cant wait to see it textured in your favourite renderer :)

    Dont forget to weld the cylinders together on the points where they come together.
    I would paint that in my normalmap.

    The wheels could use some more loops and the silhouette of the seat too, but it looks nice :)

    Gazu: Thanks! :) Yeah, I'm going to make it look welded. Thought about making separate meshes for that but maybe a normal map is enough :)

    .Wiki: Yeah, the wheels and seat should have more loops as you are saying. Thanks for the input :)

    Made some small changes on the character. Trying to focus on the bike but it's not going well at all. Having some issues with baking normals in xNormal on hard surface objects.
    Will try and figure it out but if you guys have any advice I'd be very greatful!
