Hello fellow polycounters!!!
It's been years since I have posted anything on here, but I am looking to get some feedback and constructive criticism on the latest stuff I have been doing outside of work hours.
This first image is my start to modeling a generic urban building. This is my first project for a class I am currently enrolled in, and I am looking forward to hearing from all of you bad ass, super dope artists.
Also, I have finally made the time to start playing some Arkham City this week, so this building is being made with the look of that game in mind. Hopefully I can land somewhere close to that epic game.
Let me know what you think and please feel free to tell me where I can improve.

Figured out what I wanted to do with the geo in order to push the building's default box shaped silhouette into something a little more exciting.
This is about as far as I want to take it, as I am excited to get to cleaning this mesh up and unwrapping it...but I would be interested to hear how much further I should push this asset.
Generic sidewalk and street for the base, but I might use this building as a start to creating my own little interpretation of Arkam City...if I can make the time.
This flat shaded screen grab is probably nothing too crazy for polycount, but I would love to hear any advice from all of you smooth operators.
I have been UV-ing this as I go, and have applied some temporary place holder photos. I am going to finish unwrapping the rest of it so I can get started on the final textures.
It is feeling a little too bright right now, but I hoping to give it a lot more "mood" before I am done.
Dirt and grime...works every time.
And as you say dirt and grime will make this really work in total I think. Looking forward to it.
On another note, are those long windows on the base floor actually doors? Because if they are I would place something in frnt of them similar as the little stairs in front of the brown door.
Just kiddin bro.
I like that this is made of modular pieces but you broke it up so it's not so obvious. The billboard and roof objects really help sell this for me. It's not just 'oh, another one of these buildings'. You've done enough so far to still make it interesting and if you go the Batman route, it will make a nice portfolio piece.
I actually started on something very similar last year and this may inspire me to finally finish it someday.
Oh and thanks, now I have that Smooth Operator song stuck in my head.
