Hey all, this is my first time making a Dota 2 item.
Atm I'm half way through working on a DP set, would love some feedback!
P/S : Normal maps not activated in the screenshots below. =/
Here is the concept art :

Some progress shots :

Will be moving towards the headgear and belt. If you're interested in how I got to the concept / indepth WIP, you can visit my blog :

I suppose my only thoughts are if the gold waist piece is big enough to be layered over other things without clipping through? But i don't know much of anything about that.
Lovely work!
Anyway, an update on the headgear, just left with the hair.
I need some help with the rigging of the hair though, do I just bind it to the joint above the head or do I make a new one? Also will the new one register in game? Appreciate any advices.
Another update mainly for the hair.
Edit : Managed to get it into the game, here are some screenies!
Trying to import the ghost in though(model and animation), but it keeps failing. Not too sure what I am doing wrong. =/
My only suggestion is to have more of the top-down gradient thing. Right now the forms of each item slot isn't very recognizable from the in-game camera.
The other pieces are quite decent though!
How did you rigged the hair to the head (witch bones)?
I tried with every bone related to the hair (head, neck 1, hair 1,2,3) but the model doesn't show when i import it to Dota 2.:(
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you !
