Its great man! I kind of stumbled on this thread... I totally forgot Watto was a starwars character. It's too bad this might get over looked. Might want to put Star Wars in the title?!? should help out.
Hah, I had some problems with the new trilogy but I did like this guy's design and you do stay faithful to it.
Looking at him, the only improvments I imagine is like in renderers to make him slightly more "organic, squishy" looking, but now I am forcing myself to just add some nitpicks.
The head and torso look pretty good. I think the wings could do with some more attention. They are larger and thinner on the character and you can see the wing bones too.
ZombieWells - Thanks for the suggestion. I will do that.
Tobbo - I rendered a bunch of layers out of Zbrush and pieced it together in Photoshop. It was a new approach for me and I learned alot. Here is a simply article I used to help me out.
Littlenorwegians - He is lacking an sss shader and I am still learning how to fake that look. This is only the third model I have ever textured, I still have alot to learn.
Katana - I do have some more detail in his wings. But I think I lost the detail in the perspective and and lens blur. This was my first attempt at rendering out layers. I will have to pay more attention to details like that in the future. I will post some turnarounds so you guys can see the whole thing. Thanks.
Thanks papercut
Torch - This was a challenge that CG society was running awhile ago. I had barely started the challenge when I got a new job. The job became extremely demanding and I had to put character modeling to the side. I actually ended up quitting so that I could pursue character modeling again. I barely had a base mesh done on this guy when I shelved him. So I picked this back up when I got back into modeling. Plus I wanted to finish what I started.
