So for a project for school we had to pick one of 4 concept art and model the entire scene. The other 3 concepts art seemed either too simple or too open so I picked this one from Destiny:
After a few days of modelling here is my current progress:
I'm sorry, I had to laugh hard after I saw such a complex concept right next to 'school project' but your first WIP looks terrific! Will be following this closely
Please have another look at this concept
Your stairs suggest a whole different scale factor (0.3), and it seems that you do not properly realize the size of this whole scene. That can easily be a whole FPS multiplayer map, it is huge. Look how small the crates and lamp posts are.
Make sure you can actually accomplish this before you go on.

Keep up the great work!
Haha, thankfully we only have to model it for now!

I see what you mean, the stairs I have right now are more placeholders that will get replaced in the coming weeks.
Boom, I'm on the home stretch; going to get working on the lobby area of the main building and the extra details on the outer buildings. After that I just have some UV'ing and I'm done!
Thanks everyone for the kind words, sadly though I'll be leaning more towards animation for school, there are much more opportunities locally for animators, I won't be required to texture this scene.
All we are required to do is model and UV it for now, if I was majoring more in modeling I would probably end up texturing it next quarter.

Currently, I have no plans to bring this into an engine, our assignment for right now is to only model the scene.

Not sure quite yet how to populate this area yet, probably will add some extra wires and random debris.
