Hey all,

Wasn't quite sure where to post this one but I've recently written a blog post and made some personal Photoshop actions available for download. I imagine that many of you have similar ones already but for those that don't, you can grab them here:

www.retrofist.com

I've linked to the main site because there's another post covering the subject of colour profiles within Photoshop. Ensure that yours is set-up correctly or your alpha channels won't be as accurate as you'd like.

Hope you find them useful!

All the best,
John

Thanks for this, though i am a bit stuck on the re-size your image to 50%, is that 50% down or up? Also if it is up, Isn't up scaling bad? I am assuming it's down i have yet to test this .atn out.

And since this is the thread after all, it would be nice to use it more than once. ;)

You're welcome! The resize action will half-size your document using a percentage scale. Upscaling by an additional 50% would be a 150% scale, not 50%.

To answer your question, upscaling is often a bad idea (fractal scaling plugins can help if you desperately need to do it, though). It's often advisable to work in at least double your target resolution.

    All the best,

No problem! I've worked in the industry for many years and to be honest, the alpha channel colour profile discrepancy was always something I glossed over! Anyhow, glad you found it useful.
