I've finally got around to capturing some gameplay images and video. I've neglected updates far too long, but I have been working on the game quite a bit lately.
And lastly some low res gameplay video. Please forgive the framerate issues, they are a result of the screen capture software.
Yeah I sure am. The shader is stand in for the mobile shader pack I will be purchasing off of the asset store. It's got some really nice reflective and specular shading.
looks good! the only thing i can see and that really bugs me is the lack of sense of speed, you look at your spedo and it says your going 99 and it doesnt feel like that .... the env isnt whipping by like it should at those speeds.
how fast would these carts go? what is the engine output on them?
@Cglewis - Yep the MPH is not entirely accurate right now, some math in the code to tweak and kind of get that MPH into a more accurate zone. It's a 125CC go kart, and would prob top out around 65 MPH or so at top speed.
Working on the garage area for kart selection. I had a really tough design constraint to try to work around with the decals. The karts can be painted several different colors and when I first used full color decals, some of the decals didn't match with the paint color currently selected. I am thinking I will be going back to simpler black and white decals.
Hi everyone. I've put a forum up on Super Kart Racing's main web site for folks to follow the progress of this game in one place. If you have interest in this game, go on over and create a discussion!
Still in a rough beta state. I'm not happy with the look of the "starting" light graphics. The camera follow also has issues when I drive up onto the banked oval.
Project is absolutely not dead. I have been grinding down on hardcore production the last two weeks. Building up a new track (hope to show this coming week), based off of Rock Island, IL. Building up a better shader for the paint and decaling system. The old system was disabling a mesh with transparent textures overlaying the painted chassis (not ideal). Biggest of all I've moved almost everything over into Unity 5 and began the process of converting all of the Javascript based code to C#. It's a big task, but one that needs to be done.
Super Kart Racing for PC has been in development now for a few months. Mostly time porting code, creating new art assets and setting up the new project database.
