Zbrush Symmetry

Hey guys,
Quick question here. I am trying to figure out a way to paint in zbrush with multiple instanced brushes on a flat plane, similar to how radial symmetry works on a cylinder. It would be super helpful for making tiling patterns.

I figured I could draw one pattern, make an alpha and turn roll on the brush, but it just doesn't work as well as radial symmetry.

Any thoughts?

What about using projection master with a pattern created in Photoshop and used as an alpha in zbrush. Example - Create the squiggly you made in the example, then copy it over 10 times, and save that out as an alpha. Drop it down in projection master, and use the alpha.

Tremulant, thanks for the idea! I hadn't considered that. I think that would definitely work, but what I was hoping to find was a technique where I could carve 1 pattern and see it updated across the board realtime. Because then I can make adjustments, add detail, etc based on how its looking.

Maybe this functionality does not exist :( But it should!

I guess I could unwrap the cylinder, and just paint on the cylinder with radial symmetry on. Then bake out a height map... but that just so hacky :(
