Andrew Tejeda and I (Blake Mead) are working together to make a short 3D animation in the next few months. This thread is where we will be posting all our work in progress.

Brief summary:
Animation of a pilot grabbing his gear, getting into a plane, taking off then flying toward some disaster.

I'm Andrew, I've been doing a lot of behind the scenes work, but I've finally got a little something I can share with you all. I have a test animation of the vertical engines for the VTOL that I've designed for our animation. This is just to showcase how the vertical engines work. Much more will be following this over the next weeks and of course critiques are always welcome.

*The rotating center only seems to stop because I rendered it out at 24 fps, this will be fixed in the final of course.

Update on my progress with the Vtol for our animation.

That VTOL looks awesome, but to me the wings look a little thin and flimsy. Also maybe the windshield could bulge out just a teeny bit more.

Also, how does it fly anywhere?

Thank you! and yeah I'll see if I can bulk up the wings a bit, as well as bulge out the windshield more. I was trying to go for a Vtol that can travel at speeds similar to modern fighter jets in atmosphere, so I based a lot of my design choices off of the F-22 Raptor. But the engine is behind the main hull and underneath the tail; I'll be posting a render of the rear view soon. Thank you again though!

Really nice work man, loving cleanliness of the helmet/armour! Did you follow and specific concept or such, how was your process when designing the pieces?
