I have been cranking on this guy on and off for a while now and I figured I should make a thread vs being a secret squirrel about this. I have been so busy the last few years working on my own projects/freelance/games I feel Im falling behind the curve!
so I decided I needed to up my game some and make some more complex art for a change while moving into the PBR workflow and complex based asset modeling for large pieces.
I decided to work on one of the pieces by Izumo Jyuki
the 19wT Version.
I tried to give it a bit more life by adding a inner interior as well.
Heres a few Renders of the high and the start of texturing in the low bellow that. (Being done in marmoset 2 FYI)
Thanks everyone!

Until it looks like the new star-trek I should just start over.
Your edges are also really soft on the legs
The "head" of the concept is also standing out a lot more than yours
I do understand I extended the legs slightly and the head I made slightly shorter, I felt that it made it feel more structurely sound originally. As the head over extending past the front made it very top heavy and the legs didnt have a place to properly arc/rotate if I had left them with the mid section extension as short.
I will try and play with its posing and perspective to show its not entirely to far off.
But I wanted to show a little progress on the texturing of this guy.
I will continue to truck on him.
Looking good though, Coming along nicely. The lens and the lights are looking cool. I like the minimalist texture style so far, Nice clean look.
Maybe roll in some of his "Limbs" and match the stance of the concept. He looks a little stiff atm.
This was a fun little project.
To me the material looks more concrete than metal. I'm not sure what what you're after but pumping up the spec a little might help if you want to go for a more metal look
