Hey guys, perhaps a stupid question... But is there a way to render a scene in 3DS Max as its seen in the viewport?
I'm currently trying to render my models so I can use them in a Photoshop manipulation, but whenever I render the scene I only get black models. I've tried fiddling around with light sources, but havent gotten the foggiest idea on how this works (there's plenty of tutorials out there, I know, but they all speak of option I've never even heard of).
And I'd actually prefer it if the scene wasnt lighted, as it'll make the manipulation easier to work with.

Or do you mean that you want a render with the default lighting? To do that you need to remove all of the lights from the scene. Even if there is one light in the scene but is turned off it will render pitch black. Get rid of them all and it renders with the default lighting (a single omni light always behind the viewport camera).
If it looks correct in the viewport why not use that and just Printscreen or Create Preview?
I did remove all of my light sources, but that still just gives me a black render. I suppose I could use a printscreen, but I'd prefer not to as that'll also give me 3DS Max's background.
Speaking of, is there a way to render as a PNG? Or something similar?

If you need a higher resolution capture there's this script for it
