Z Brush topology

I need help. I don't know why but when I was working with a sphere doing some topology work and it just stopped working. I made sure that I was on edit and ,reset my computer, exited z brush and came back and I just don't know what happened. Has this happened to anyone?

Is it possible you inadvertently masked your entire subtool? Try Tool > Masking > Clear.

If by "topology work" you mean you were retopologizing using ZSpheres, if you edit your preview mesh, you lose the ability to revert to Edit Topology mode.
