When you reply to someones post or comment do you have to reply with a quote or do I just press the reply button? Because when I press the reply button it doesn't seem like it works

Hitting the ! reply button takes you down to the quick reply box at the bottom. Above that and to the left there is a 'post reply' button which will take you to a separate page with a more advanced type box.
