Hi.

Im trying to get two different materials on to a trunk, the bottom part and the rest. I work with CryEngine, so i have tried using the blend layer technique, but got bad resaults.

Is unwrapping and option? I did try to add a Unwrap UVW modifier, then break the trunk at the bottom so now i have two pieces, but i can't seem to be able to add another texture, it just adds it on the entire tree.

Thanks!

The best thing to keep the model as one whole mesh is to have two unwraps with two different uv sets going on but you need two differrnt map channels. You also need to use a mask texture that will blend the two barks. Then you could use a multi sub obj or a composite material to view it in max or whatever the equivalent of a linear interpolate is in Cryengine. Heres it in action
