Ancient Knight concept, need Rigging/Texturing advice

Did concept for this character, going to try and get it game-ready.

I'd appreciate any and all criticism.

Wondering if anyone might be able to suggest the best way to go about doing chain mail.




Right now, the chain-links in the chainmail are separate geometry - what would be the best way for projecting this onto a low-poly mesh? The base model would be around 10k i believe.
