Help with getting back to focus

Hello. I have been working on my portfolio project for the last 9 months and I feel like I'm starting to loss my focus. I only have six months left til I graduate. I'm also not sure what I should be focusing on to put into an Environment Artist Portfolio. I've looked at people's portfolio's and most of them seem to focus on completed environments,most of them are large scale environments, while some have small environments and props. First I'm wondering is it common to lose focus if you have been working on a project for to long and if anyone has any suggestions on what I should I should focus on for my portfolio. Should it be a large scale environment or should it be a small scale environment and random props? Thank you!

I think that the scale of the environment isnt the main thing to be concern off.
Doing a smartly organised small scale environment with good texture is more better than having one large but badly organised.

At the bottom line, do what you can handle within a time frame that you set. Put yourself in production.

Work smarter, not harder. Don't waste time on details that wont be seen or on small props. Figure out your goal for each project, and make a time plan, remember things take 3 times longer than you expect, so make the schedule flexible.

@DEDE_pig and ZacD thank you both. I think that my planning was off and it caused me to lose my way. I am going to start planning a much smaller environment and see where it goes.
