I have wanted to share some of the art I have made for Warframe for a long time, but until now I haven't really have the time.
Initially I did some Environment art and now I have moved to the weapons team
I did the highpoly, lowpoly, textures, and material tweaks on all of these weapons. On some of the weapons I had the chance to concept, and do basic animations.
You will have more artists posting in this thread soon :):)
Don't forget that it is a free to play game, and available on PC and PS4 : www.warframe.com
Amazing work man! I've always loved the aesthetics of Warframe (As well as obviously the game as a whole), but seeing these models up close <___<. Incredible.
wow that stuff is crazy, love the quality of the sculpts, a workflow tutorial would be interesting! Im not a big fan of the materials on the final game models, some of the guns look kind of like they are made of plastic and leather and rubber. The security pod looks nice and metallic so maybe the guns are meant to look more organic in material?
So Lucas blows my stuff out of the water, but I'll add some up as well... most of this is fairly old now but were pretty fun to work on. When DE first started on Warframe it was Jon Wiley, Brian Noon and Me working on the environment art so we had to make sure our textures could be fairly re-usable... so flat mapping and tinting was the way to go...
If you all haven't checked out Warframe in awhile, you should pop back in and see how much this game has changed / new art sets etc.
When i first played the game. I absolutely love the character designs. The organic shapes with hardsurface mix so well. Great work!
Would you be sharing some of your workflow? =D
Some awesome stuff man! Warframe is a pretty fun game...for a while a couple coworkers and I were playing it at lunch. Dig the sci fi stuff...pretty cool designs.
I love most of it, but some of those organic guns looks too fluffy or blobby or something for my taste. I know it's a stylistic choice, but I don't think it's quite working the way it ought to.
This video show how I sculpted the Infested whip "Scoliac" in Zbrush.
This video don't show all the process, sometime I just forgot to record what I was doing :S
But it still give you an idea of how I work
I divided this video to show all the different step I did :
1- General shapes : 00:00:00
2- First pass detail : 00:11:54
3- Final Pass detail : 00:22:26
4- Making the cord : 01:02:56

Hello!
Thanks a lot for your comments, I really appreciate it
Qdwach, With time I do less in max, I will post soon a video of how I sculpt grineer and you will see that now I just start with a really simple greybox. I still do it in max because I have my setup with a character and all, and I can send it to the engine to test the basic volumes easily.
MeshMagnet, I am not sure of which brush you talk about, but I quite use one to do all the lines. It's Michael Brennan AKA Mynki who show me this brush and here the settings. It's simple but I really love it :

May I ask about your process of getting those nice grooves I see all over your hard surface models? Which brush did you use for that?
Thanks a lot for your comments, I really appreciate it
