I think he means the pimping and preview SDK thread, where people mostly just post characters. I often had the urge to post something environment related in it but I've never gotten to it.
You'll find that on virtually every site where people can post their artwork. I think it's because people as animals have stronger reactions to other animals, especially good looking ones. There was even a study done on chimps that found they would forgo treats in favor of looking at a picture of either the alpha male or female of their community.
SDK normally stands for Software Development Kit. That allows you to kick start in coding by modifying the ready made code given to you by someone else or a template / library that you can refer in your code.
SDK on Polycount's PnP stands for Skin Development Kit, where people would post their low poly model for others to use. You raised the same question as I did when that thread was first made by polyhertz and we all settled on that description.
my theory of SDK in game design and development is any incomplete project that can be used as a reference in fine tuning your project,and or any ready made object that you can refer in ones project. Anything that was made by others but you got a hold of it some how and used it in your project giving the owner who made that thing a full credit for it.
